Electromagnetism in Point Form

INDUCTANCE

What is Inductance?

INDUCTANCE
Inductance is a property of conductors to store Energy in the form of a Magnetic Field.
An Electric Field or an Electric Current must be changing in order to invoke Inductance.

CAPACITANCE

What is Capacitance?

CAPACITANCE
Capacitance is the property of dielectrics and free space to store Energy in the form of an Electric Field.
The dielectric is usually bounded by conducting metal plates.
Capacitance is invoked by a separation of positive and negative Electric charges within the dielectic or free space.

MAGNETIZATION

What is Magnetization?

MAGNETIZATION
Magnetization is the orientation of magnetic domains or atomic spins in the same direction which produces a net directional magnetic attraction.
There are three general types of magnetization : Paramagnetic, Diamagnetic and Ferromagnetic.

TRIVIA

🔔 QUESTION : How does an ordinary ferromagnetic material differ from a magnet?

💡 Hover or Tap for the ANSWER! 💡

An ordinary ferromagnetic material has magnetic domains that are randomnly oriented, whereas a magnet has magnetic domains that are mostly oriented in the same direction and so has a net magnetization.

ELECTRIC FLUX

What is Electric Flux?

ELECTRIC FLUX
The Electric Flux is a representation of the Electric Field as Electric Field lines.

MAGNETIC FLUX

What is Magnetic Flux?

MAGNETIC FLUX
The Magnetic Flux is a representation of the Magnetic Field as Magnetic Field lines.

ELECTRIC FLUX DENSITY

What is Electric Flux Density?

ELECTRIC FLUX DENSITY
The Electric Flux Density is a representation of the number of electric field lines passing through a specific area.
The Electric Flux Density is also sometimes called the Electric Displacement.

MAGNETIC FLUX DENSITY

What is Magnetic Flux Density?

MAGNETIC FLUX DENSITY
The Magnetic Flux Density is a representation of the number of magnetic field lines passing through a specific area.

BIOT-SAVART LAW

What is the Biot-Savart Law?

BIOT-SAVART LAW
The Biot-Savart law describes the force perpendicular to a moving electric charge, such as an electron beam or an electric current.
The perpendicular force is called the Magnetic force or Magnetic field.

TRIVIA

🔔 QUESTION : The Biot-Savart law is the forerunner which Electromagnetic Law?

💡 Hover or Tap for the ANSWER! 💡

The Biot-Savart law is the forerunner of Ampere's Law.

FARADAY'S LAW

What is Faraday's Law?

FARADAY'S LAW
Faraday's Law states an EMF (Voltage) is induced in a closed conducting loop whenever that loop is placed within a Magnetic Flux changing in time.
Faraday's Law is one of the four Maxwell's equations that were used to predict the existence of electromagnetic waves.
