⚜ What is Perpetual Motion? ⚜
Perpetual Motion is motion that continues indefinitely without the input of additional energy.
Perpetual Motion cannot be attained because any system will lose energy in one form or another and reach equilibrium. No device exists in nature or can be built that would not eventually lose its energy over time.

INERTIAL MOTION
⚜ What is Inertial Motion? ⚜
An object moving through space such as the space probe Voyager 2 seems to travel perpetually under its own inertia, which is the property of a mass to continue moving unless acted upon by another force. This is inertial motion.
Inertial motion is not truly perpetual as there are always forces acting in the Universe and so the inertial motion will eventually come to an end.

The shining Sun is perpetually lighting and heating the Earth but this is due to continuous nuclear reactions within the Sun producing radiation which migrates through the Sun's interior to eventually escape into space. These reactions will eventually end as the Sun expends its massive reserve of hydrogen fuel.

UNBALANCED WHEEL
⚜ What is an Unbalanced Wheel? ⚜
The unbalanced wheel is a device that is expected to continue rotating perpetually with weights that continually shift position.
One type of unbalanced wheel consists of a rotating wheel which has weighted movable rods mounted on the outer circumference and which extend outward on one side in the direction of rotation and which hang down when reaching the opposite side. This supposedly keeps the wheel rotating due to the unbalanced weight on one side. The wheel will actually come to rest.
Another type of unbalanced wheel uses the transfer of liquid between bellows on one side of the wheel to the other to theoretically remain unbalanced.

⚜ What is a Perpetual Fountain? ⚜
The perpetual fountain uses the idea that the hydrostatic pressure of a large opening is less than that of a small opening and so the smaller opening would continue to force fluid through the larger opening. This does not actually occur.

MAGNETIC PENDULUM
⚜ What is a Magnetic Pendulum? ⚜
The magnetic pendulum is another perpetual motion device that uses the idea of magnetic neutralization to allow a magnet to attract a metal ball and then release it so the pendulum can supposedly continue to swing.

ROTATING EARTH
⚜ What is The Rotating Earth? ⚜
The Earth continues to rotate perpetually as it orbits the Sun. The rotation exists due to the large angular momentum the Earth accumulated when it was formed. This angular momentum is actually being lost over time and the Earth's rotation will eventually slow down.

ORBITING EARTH
⚜ What is The Orbiting Earth? ⚜
The Earth is always falling perpetually towards the Sun as it orbits. No Work or Energy is expended to keep the Earth in motion as its forward motion is in equilibrium with the Sun's gravity.
The Earth will not fall into the Sun in the foreseeable future as the forces acting on the Earth are not strong enough to appreciably slow its inertial motion.
Orbiting satellites work in the same way and will not fall to the Earth as long as they are high enough to avoid the resistance of the Earth's atmosphere.
